Taylor Swift’s journey to global superstardom is filled with hilarious moments that reveal a side of the singer fans don’t always get to see. Before performing in packed stadiums, she entertained audiences at Nashville’s Rubber Duck Race, an unusual early gig she later recalled with plenty of humor.
During an interview with David Letterman, Taylor also joked that anyone dating her had fair warning that their romantic adventures might inspire a song. Her appearances on late-night television have produced plenty of other memorable moments, from discussing her love of baking sourdough bread to receiving Letterman’s unforgettable compliment that she smelled like “expensive wood.” Taylor has even shared how she searched social media to learn about fans before inviting some to secret album-listening sessions. Whether she’s describing perfume in a dramatically elegant voice or laughing about her unusual experiences, Taylor proves that spontaneous moments can be just as entertaining as a carefully planned performance.
