Milana Vayntrub’s journey is about far more than her familiar role as Lily Adams in the AT&T commercials. Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 1987, she and her Jewish family immigrated to the United States when she was a young child. Growing up in California, Milana began acting in commercials and eventually developed a passion for improv and sketch comedy.
After studying at UC San Diego and training with the Upright Citizens Brigade, she built a diverse career with appearances in ER, Californication, Silicon Valley, and This Is Us. Her recognizable AT&T character made her a pop-culture favorite, but she continued exploring film, television, voice acting, and projects such as Marvel’s New Warriors, where she played Squirrel Girl. Beyond entertainment, Vayntrub has also used her platform to advocate for refugees and humanitarian causes, drawing on her family’s own immigration experience. Her story reflects creativity, resilience, and a commitment to making an impact beyond the screen.
