Jennifer Esposito is opening up about why she finally walked away from Hollywood after years of rejection, pressure, and experiences she describes as abusive.
The Blue Bloods actress recently explained on the Heal Squad podcast that she spent much of her career trying to meet industry expectations while feeling that nothing she did was ever good enough. From criticism over her behavior on set to feeling discouraged when speaking about workplace concerns, Esposito said the experience gradually wore her down. Eventually, she reached a breaking point and decided to take control of her future. Before leaving that chapter behind, however, she was determined to complete Fresh Kills, a film she wrote, directed, and starred in. After struggling to secure financial support, she chose to invest in her own vision. Now living in Paris, Esposito says she feels happier and more at peace, having discovered the importance of believing in herself and refusing to settle for less.
